1. About this policy
NeuroPlay Games Studio (“NeuroPlay”, “the Studio”, “we”, “us” or “our”) develops and operates games and the website on which this policy appears. We take the privacy of our players seriously, and this policy is written to be read — not skimmed past.
It describes the categories of information we collect about you, how and why we use that information, the circumstances in which we share it, how long we keep it, and the rights you can exercise over it. It applies to our games across all platforms on which we publish them, to this website, and to any support or communications channels we operate. Where a specific game or feature involves different handling, we will say so at the point of collection or in a supplementary notice.
In this policy, “Information” means information that identifies you or that could reasonably be linked to you, either on its own or when combined with other data we hold. If you do not agree with how we handle Information, please do not use our games or website.
2. Who we are
NeuroPlay Games Studio is the controller responsible for Information collected through our games and website. This means we decide what Information is collected and the purposes it is used for.
You can reach our privacy team at privacy@neuroplaygamesstudio.com for any question about this policy or about how your Information is handled. Full contact details are set out in section 16.
3. Information we collect
We collect Information in three ways: you give it to us, it is generated automatically as you play, and it reaches us from third parties such as platform holders and service providers.
3.1 Information you give us
- Account and profile details — such as a display name, avatar, country or region, and an email address where a game or service requires an account.
- Support correspondence — the contents of messages you send us, including bug reports, screenshots, device details you choose to share, and the history of the conversation.
- User-generated content — names you give to in-game items or characters, chat or message content in games that include those features, and anything else you submit or post.
- Survey, research and competition entries — responses and any contact details you provide when you take part voluntarily.
- Business contact details — where you contact the Studio about a partnership, a career opportunity, or a press enquiry.
3.2 Information generated when you play
- Gameplay data — levels reached, progress, scores, in-game currency and item balances, session length and frequency, settings and preferences, and the choices you make within a game.
- Device and technical data — device model, operating system and version, language settings, screen characteristics, network type, app version, crash reports, performance diagnostics and error logs.
- Identifiers — advertising identifiers supplied by your device or platform, internal player identifiers we generate, and where relevant an IP address.
- Approximate location — typically country or region, derived from an IP address or platform setting. We do not collect precise GPS location unless a game clearly asks for it and you grant permission.
- Transaction records — a record of purchases you make, including what was bought, when, the amount and currency, and the platform receipt or transaction identifier. Payment card and bank details are handled by the platform or payment provider and are not collected or stored by us.
- Website data — pages visited, referring pages, time on page, and similar analytics collected through cookies and comparable technologies.
3.3 Information from third parties
- Platform and store providers — where you access a game through an app store, console service or distribution platform, that provider may share a player identifier, purchase confirmations, and basic profile details permitted by your platform settings.
- Payment processors — confirmation that a payment succeeded, failed, was refunded or charged back.
- Analytics and attribution partners — aggregated and event-level measurement about how players find and use our games.
- Advertising partners — information about ads served in or for our games, including impressions, clicks, and installs attributed to a campaign.
- Anti-fraud and security providers — signals that help us detect cheating, account compromise, bot activity and fraudulent transactions.
Where we receive Information from a third party, that party’s own privacy policy governs their collection of it. We encourage you to review the privacy settings offered by your platform and device.
4. How we use Information
In short: we use your Information to run our games, to support you when something goes wrong, to understand how our games are played, and to make them better. In more detail, we use it to:
- provide the games and their features, create and maintain your account, and save and restore your progress across sessions and devices;
- process purchases, deliver in-game items, and handle refunds, chargebacks and billing queries;
- operate multiplayer, leaderboard, matchmaking and social features where a game includes them;
- respond to support requests, investigate reported problems, and communicate with you about your account or a game you play;
- diagnose crashes and technical faults, monitor stability and performance, and improve compatibility across devices;
- analyse gameplay and engagement so we can balance difficulty, tune systems, prioritise new content, and decide what to build next;
- run A/B tests and other product experiments, so that changes are evaluated against real play rather than assumption;
- personalise your experience — for example, surfacing content, offers or difficulty appropriate to how you play;
- serve and measure advertising, including in some cases interest-based advertising, subject to your choices and platform permissions;
- send you marketing and promotional messages where you have asked to receive them or where we are otherwise permitted to do so;
- detect, investigate and prevent cheating, fraud, abuse, harassment and violations of our terms, and enforce those terms; and
- comply with legal obligations, respond to lawful requests, and establish, exercise or defend legal claims.
We may aggregate or de-identify Information so that it no longer identifies you, and use and share it for any lawful purpose, such as industry reporting or research into how games are played. We do not attempt to re-identify Information we have de-identified.
5. Legal bases for processing
If you are in a jurisdiction that requires a legal basis for processing — such as the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland — we rely on the following:
- Performance of a contract — to provide the games and features you ask for, maintain your account and progress, and process your purchases.
- Legitimate interests — to understand and improve our games, keep them secure and free of cheating and fraud, provide support, and grow the Studio, provided those interests are not overridden by your rights.
- Consent — for interest-based advertising where required, non-essential cookies, optional marketing messages, and any precise location or device permission a game requests. You may withdraw consent at any time, without affecting processing already carried out.
- Legal obligation — to keep tax and transaction records, respond to valid legal requests, and meet other obligations that apply to us.
6. How we share Information
We do not sell your Information in the ordinary sense of the word — we do not exchange it for money. We do share it in the following circumstances, and some of that sharing may be treated as a “sale” or “sharing” under certain state privacy laws, as explained in section 12.
- With other players — where a game has social, multiplayer or leaderboard features, your display name, avatar, progress and anything you post may be visible to others. Please do not share information in a game that you would not want other players to see.
- With service providers — companies that work on our behalf under contract, including cloud hosting and storage providers, customer support tools, crash reporting and analytics platforms, email delivery services, and anti-fraud vendors. They may use Information only to provide their service to us.
- With advertising partners — ad networks and mediation platforms that serve ads in our games or promote our games elsewhere, and measurement partners that report on campaign performance. See section 7.
- With platform and payment providers — app stores, distribution platforms and payment processors, for the purposes of distributing our games and completing transactions.
- With professional advisers — lawyers, accountants, auditors and insurers, where reasonably necessary.
- In corporate transactions — if the Studio is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganisation or sale of assets, Information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to this policy continuing to apply to it.
- For legal and safety reasons — with law enforcement, regulators, courts or other parties where we believe in good faith that disclosure is required by law, or is necessary to protect the rights, property or safety of the Studio, our players, or the public.
7. Advertising and analytics
Some of our games are supported by advertising. Depending on the game, ads may be contextual — chosen based on the game itself — or interest-based, chosen using identifiers and activity data to show ads more likely to be relevant to you.
Where interest-based advertising is used, our partners may receive an advertising identifier, approximate location, device information and information about ads you interacted with. You have meaningful control over this:
- On mobile devices, you can reset or limit your advertising identifier, or refuse tracking permission, through your operating system’s privacy settings.
- Where a game provides in-app privacy or consent settings, you can change your choices there at any time.
- On our website, you can manage non-essential cookies through your browser settings or any cookie control we present.
Opting out of interest-based advertising does not mean you will stop seeing ads; it means the ads you see will be less tailored to you.
We also use analytics tools to understand how our games and website are used in aggregate. These tools rely on identifiers and event data rather than on information such as your name.
8. International transfers
We are a distributed studio and we work with service providers in a number of countries. As a result, your Information may be stored or processed outside the country in which you live, including in countries whose data protection laws differ from those of your own.
Where we transfer Information out of the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, we rely on an appropriate safeguard — most commonly an adequacy decision covering the destination country, or standard contractual clauses approved by the relevant authority, together with additional technical and organisational measures where they are needed. You can request further detail about the safeguards we use by contacting us.
9. How long we keep Information
We keep Information for as long as you have an account with us or continue to play our games, and then for a limited period afterwards. As a general rule, we retain player Information for up to three years from your last interaction with a game, after which it is deleted or irreversibly anonymised.
Some Information is kept on a different schedule:
- transaction and tax records are retained for the period required by applicable financial and tax law;
- support correspondence is generally retained for a shorter period once a request is resolved;
- records relating to cheating, fraud, abuse or bans may be retained for longer, so that enforcement remains effective; and
- Information relevant to an actual or anticipated legal claim is retained until that matter is concluded.
Aggregated and anonymised data, which cannot be linked back to you, may be retained indefinitely.
10. Security
We apply technical and organisational measures designed to protect Information against loss, misuse and unauthorised access — including encryption in transit, access controls limiting who within the Studio can reach player data, monitoring of our systems, and contractual obligations on the providers we work with.
No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. You can help protect your account by choosing a strong, unique password where a game offers one, keeping your platform account secure, and contacting us promptly if you believe your account has been accessed without your permission.
11. Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live, you may have some or all of the following rights in relation to your Information:
- Access — to ask what Information we hold about you and to receive a copy of it.
- Correction — to have inaccurate or incomplete Information corrected.
- Deletion — to ask us to delete Information we hold about you, subject to exceptions where we are required or permitted to keep it.
- Portability — to receive certain Information in a structured, machine-readable format, or to have it sent to another provider where technically feasible.
- Restriction and objection — to ask us to limit how we use your Information, or to object to processing based on our legitimate interests.
- Withdrawal of consent — to withdraw consent at any time where our processing relies on it.
- Opting out of marketing — to unsubscribe from promotional email at any time using the link in the message or by contacting us.
- Non-discrimination — to exercise these rights without being treated less favourably in our games or services.
To make a request, email privacy@neuroplaygamesstudio.com. We will need to verify your identity before we act, which usually means asking for details only the account holder would know, such as a player identifier or a purchase receipt. We respond within the period required by applicable law. There is no charge for a reasonable request; we may charge a fee or decline where a request is manifestly unfounded or excessive, and we will explain our reasoning if so.
You may also authorise an agent to make a request on your behalf, where local law permits, and we may ask for proof of that authorisation.
12. Regional disclosures
12.1 European Economic Area, United Kingdom and Switzerland
The legal bases on which we rely are set out in section 5, and the rights available to you in section 11. If you believe we have not handled your Information properly, we would like the chance to put it right — but you also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.
12.2 California and other United States jurisdictions
If you are a California resident, you have the right to know the categories of personal information we have collected about you, the sources it came from, the purposes for collecting it, and the categories of third parties with whom we share it; the right to request deletion or correction; the right to opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising; and the right not to be discriminated against for exercising those rights. The categories we collect are described in section 3, our purposes in section 4, and our disclosures in section 6.
We do not sell personal information for money. However, our use of advertising and analytics partners described in section 7 may be considered “sharing” or a “sale” under California law. You can opt out through the in-game privacy settings where a game provides them, through your device’s advertising controls, or by emailing us. We honour recognised opt-out preference signals sent by your browser where we are required to do so. We do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of anyone under 16.
Residents of other US states with comprehensive privacy laws have comparable rights, including access, correction, deletion, portability, opting out of targeted advertising and profiling, and appealing a decision we make about a request. To appeal, reply to our response or contact us using the details in section 16.
12.3 Brazil
If you are in Brazil, you have rights under the Lei Geral de Proteção de Dados, including confirmation of processing, access, correction of incomplete or outdated data, anonymisation or deletion of unnecessary data, portability, information about the entities with which we share data, and the right to withdraw consent.
12.4 Other jurisdictions
Where local law grants you rights that go beyond those described here, those rights apply, and we will honour them. Contact us and we will explain how they work in practice.
13. Children
Our games are not directed at children below the age at which consent is required for online services in their country, and we do not knowingly collect Information from them. Some of our games carry age ratings or age gates; where they do, please respect them.
If you are a parent or guardian and believe a child has provided us with Information, contact us at privacy@neuroplaygamesstudio.com. We will delete the Information and close any associated account promptly.
Where a game is designed for a mixed or younger audience, we limit data collection to what the game needs to function and disable interest-based advertising for players identified as children.
14. Third-party services and links
Our games and website may link to, or be distributed through, services operated by other companies — app stores, platform services, payment providers and advertisers among them. This policy does not cover those services. When you follow a link or interact with a third-party service, its own privacy policy and terms apply, and we encourage you to read them.
15. Changes to this policy
We update this policy from time to time — because we launch new games or features, change the providers we rely on, or because the law changes. When we do, we revise the effective date at the top of this page.
Where a change is significant, we will give you additional notice, for example through a notice in the game or by email where we hold your address. Continuing to use our games or website after an update takes effect means the revised policy applies to you.
